This site is more than just a place to buy things. My hope is that it will feel just like your living room (where those fashion shows go on). There is a place to rummage thru trunks of vintage and 2nd hand treasures (Sadie's attic) and a place to learn about the designers who make the cool threads. MONSTER SALE! Everything on the site is on sale. This recession is no fun, but sometimes we need just a little purchase to make the day a bit more sunny. Have a look. We've discounted things like crazy... and don't tell the boss we told you, but some pieces may even be negotiable, so drop us a line. Please note that we have only what is posted in terms of size and color. Plans for another ART from the ashes event are underway. This time we will be working with the Santa Barbara Botanical Garden, which sustained significant damage from the Jesusita Fire this past May. The silent auction will take place in Santa Barbara in the autumn. We will keep you posted. Our home state of California battles a dangerous wildfire season every year. So much is lost, but ART from the ashes thinks there can also be something to gain. Check out http://artfromtheashes.org to read about the artworks created from raw materials that fire leaves behind and the way in which ART from the ashes plans to help. Things that we are currently obsessed with: Dan Black - www.myspace.com/danblacksound Our favorite record at the moment. It's getting serious play around the office. Pade Vavra - www.padevavra.com Pade is an LA based jewelry designer that we met at Bergdorf Goodman this past winter. We love her beautiful jewelry collection! |

That's me on the tiger rug circa 1967. I was a baby ahead of my time... but it also helps to have good genes. My mom and dad have always been snappy dressers, so I guess it comes as no surprise that I am a clothes (and shoe... and bag... and jewelry...) horse. I love to shop. I'm not ashamed. Finding a great buy or a special piece by a coveted designer gives me a great thrill. I've spent many an afternoon hosting an impromptu fashion show at a friend's house. After a good many years dreaming about it, I have decided to do it: my own shop, Sadie Shop. Now I can share the good stuff with everyone.
